Relax right at the edge of the sea in a historic heritage building

We are open

Blissful views, comfortable accommodation and welcoming people

Picture
The Fish Mart was originally the market where fish would be sold at the height of the herring fishing boom in the 1800s.  The building stands at the end of the Stronsay pier where you will disembark from the ferry.

Today, the building has been renovated to include a cafe and hostel with 4 en-suite bedrooms, accommodating up to 10 people. There is also a family room, facilities for the disabled, a laundry room and an open plan recreation, kitchen and dining area. The hostel provides budget accommodation with self catering facilities and the cafe is open providing cakes, bakes and light meals, all prepared freshly on site.

You will be greeted with a warm welcome on Stronsay. Although small and very peaceful with the majority of the island used for agriculture, you will find everything you need for your stay.
Two local shops are very well stocked with everything you may require, a post office where you can withdraw cash, a licensed bar serving meals and free bicycle hire, craft trail, heritage centre and much more.
